Marilyn (Micky) Fleming, CGA, President & CEO
Considered a seasoned entrepreneur by her peers, Marilyn Fleming, CGA brings 25 years of proven business leadership and development expertise to Hayworth, having held executive level positions in real estate, hospitality, technology (international), manufacturing, wellness and finance. After a lifetime of "helping out" older folks, she began working with retirement residence development in 1998. Becoming a Certified Age-in-Place Specialist (NAHB) and Eden Associate afforded Fleming the opportunity to see the industry from the inside with "fresh eyes" igniting a passion for change.
Based on extensive research and innovative concepts, Ms. Fleming established a "close to the customer culture" which has proven to be essential in creating exceptional senior's residences. Her clear focus on creating value coupled with vision, leadership, and integrity make for a winning formula; the results speak for themselves.
Ms. Fleming was recognized as Citizen of the Year 2005 and received Business Leadership Award 2011. She chairs Hayworth Living Foundation.
Dana Adams CGA, Chief Financial Officer
The financial and operational leadership Dana brings to us is a culmination of 25 years of experience as CFO, Controller and VP Finance and Administration at a Fortune 500/1000 Corporation (NASDAQ), a leading software development and sales corporation (TSX-V), a public accounting practice and the senior living industry.
Her expertise at infrastructure creation and restructuring/re-engineering within high growth and downsizing environments results in meaningful performance metrics and assurance that financial systems, reports, forecasts, budgets and internal/external relationships are supportive of effective operations.
Dana has proven abilities working with all levels of management teams in Canada, the USA, Europe and the UK. She has demonstrated experience in project management (ranging from ERP systems globally to construction), international communications and reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley level controls, corporate transitioning from private to publically traded company, ISO9000, SR&ED for private and public entities, FAS123 Stock-based Compensation Accounting (Black-Scholes), employee stock ownership programs, debentures (options and warrants), share consolidation, and private placement of shares. She led the financial, infrastructure and human resource effort in the creational integration of a U.S. subsidiary and satellite sales offices resulting in U.S. and Canadian cash management, consolidation, forecasting and competitive analysis. She also developed, implemented and delivered a training curriculum for a 300 person corporation, as part of a nationwide systems deployment.
Dana 's leadership and experience in finance, taxation, information technology and project management gives Hayworth an underlying foundation for success.
Shelly Pendlebury, Executive Director, Leisure Living
Shelly brings extensive management, sales and marketing experience to Hayworth Living Group. Prior to joining us, she held management positions ranging from entrepreneurial ventures to Fortune 500 within hospitality, high end resort & senior living.
Previous to working with Hayworth, Shelly has been Director of Community Relations and Executive Director with a global senior living management company. Her roles took her across Canada and south to the US, where she assisted in opening & operating award-winning retirement communities. Happy to be back with her family and Vancouver Island roots, she now manages the Alexander Mackie Retirement Community with compassion, hospitality and a drive for excellence.
Catherine Swinscoe, Executive Director, Corporate Services
As an Internationally renowned wellness and lifestyle consultant, Catherine has 30 years of proven business expertise in developing, branding and operating unique, successful health and lifestyle businesses. Represented in Catherine's diverse international portfolio are projects for private groups, architectural and engineering firms, boutique hotels, resorts, urban and medical spas and multiple businesses in lifestyle communities.
Catherine was instrumental in the development, design and operational guidelines of the Willow Stream brand for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and as Corporate Director of Spa Operations, was responsible for all aspects of financial and operational development for their businesses in B.C., Alberta, Arizona, Mexico, Bermuda and Dubai.
Swinscoe has established and integrated location and design guidelines for facilities for maximum return on investment. She has managed leasehold improvements during construction/renovation and provided interior design and space planning expertise, working with architects and designers in many countries. She is well versed in sustainable development and has a strong network of suppliers and contractors in Canada and the U.S.

Peter Fairchild, Managing Broker
Peter brings to our Hayworth team a broad background in property management, social policy development and experience in the not-for profit sector. For 20 years, Peter worked in Vancouver's Downtown East side as a consultant, property manager and managing broker for a broad array of clients. One of his major clients was BC Housing, for which he operated and maintained over 1200 units of social housing with an annual budget of $15 million and a staff of over 200.
Peter volunteered extensively for local organizations including the Carnegie Community Centre (Treasurer & Board Member), the Pantages Theatre Arts Society (President), the Vancouver Community Arts Council (Treasurer) and the Community Gaming Association (Treasurer). He brings to our team an understanding of how non-profit organizations function, the operational and financial issues, how to work with Board members, and the challenges addressing various levels of government and funders.
Prior to his move to Vancouver, Peter spent a number of years in Ottawa and Toronto working for both the federal and provincial governments as a communications and policy consultant, and in the federal House of Commons as a policy researcher and Question Period Coordinator.
Peter's understanding of the needs & challenges of our customers is a welcome support to the goals of Hayworth Living Group.
